One test. Three pathways.
The Pearson Test of English (PTE) is a fully computer-based English test, scored by AI with no human examiner and results usually within 48 hours. It’s accepted for study, work and migration across Australia, Canada, the UK, New Zealand and beyond.
But there isn’t just one PTE. Pearson offers three different tests — PTE Academic, PTE Core and PTE Home — and each is built for a completely different goal. Choosing the right one is the single most important step, because they are not interchangeable.
At Ingenious, we first help you pick the correct test for your destination, then train you task by task for the exact format you’ll face on exam day.
The three PTE tests exist for different countries and goals. Here’s a quick way to find yours.

The standard test for university and Australia PR. Three sections, ~2 hours, scored 10–90. Features a formal argumentative essay and an academic lecture retell.
Across every PTE test, a single task can earn you points in more than one skill at once — so one strong answer counts twice. Knowing which tasks carry the most weight is the real secret to a top score.
