PTE Templates

Templates are ready-made structural frameworks for the speaking and writing tasks. They help you organise your answer in seconds and keep your grammar and fluency steady under exam pressure — so you spend your time on content, not on figuring out how to start.

How to use these templates

  1. 1 · Learn the structureUnderstand the shape of a strong answer for each task — the order of ideas and the linking words that hold it together.
  2. 2 · Practise out loud / in writingRehearse the frame until it feels natural, so on exam day you can fill it with the actual content without pausing to think about format.
  3. 3 · Adapt to every questionChange the words to fit the image, lecture or topic in front of you. A template is a guide, not a script — your answer must be about that question.
  4. 4 · Keep it relevantFocus on covering the key points clearly. Relevant, on-topic content is what earns the marks — the template only keeps you organised.

Important: The PTE scoring engine can detect memorised, word-for-word responses and will lower your score for them. Always adapt these templates to the specific question — never recite them exactly as they are.
